Research* shows that the best way to learn a language is to make it fun and interactive with real people and also that games are a particularly good way to learn. At KLOO, we make award winning best board games (with cards) and card games. You can play all games with both versions. However, the visual and action elements of the board games make them good for younger people and for schools. KLOO currently makes games for people wishing to learn French, Spanish, Italian and English as a foreign language.
KLOO Card Games
You can play 16 different games with each deck of KLOO. Card only packs come as double deck versions and each deck has vocabulary based around a different theme such as “Places” or “People”. (See below which theme goes with which deck). With each deck you can play games for 1 – 4 people. For games which need scoring (such as Classic KLOO), you will need a pen and paper to keep tally.
KLOO’s Best Board Games
With the board games you automatically get all 4 decks. They are the same decks as the card only decks. The board game adds some extra fun as you speed cars around the great cities of France, Spain or Britain in a race to the capital. First one to reach the city centre wins! Along the way there are some extra rules to spice things up (see video below), perhaps sending an opponent back or forfeiting a go. The board games suits players who like a more visual, action approach to their games. Please note there is currently no board game available for Italian.

- Research shows that learning a language with real people (who do not have to be fluent) is by far the best way to improve your language skills. Language afterall is the art of communicating with another human being. Please see extensive research collated by Language Professors King & Mackey in the Bilingual Edge. Please also see findings of Lise Eliot’s, a prominent neurologist, in Language Pie’s blog which looks into impact of learning with other people.
